At Fresh Baked, we’re all about Disneyland secrets, and when we found out there is a secret menu at Disneyland, you can bet your last churro we checked it out. And we tried it all!
Now some of these menu items aren’t exactly secrets. Many of us had been aware of them for a while. But what they certainly are, are off the menu, so you need to ask for them extra special.
And finally, before we begin, per Disney, these secret menu items will be available as long as supplies last. But then, all of these menu items are made with ingredients already found and used in every day menu items, so there’s a good chance they’re going to be here a while.
We’ll start on Main Street at the Carnation Café for the Electra Fried Chicken Sandwich. This one is named specifically as on homage to the Main Street Electrical parade. That parade is magnificent, and so is this sandwich. Spicy chicken served with hot pepper sauce, coleslaw, cilantro and more. It’s delicious, and enormous. It could probably feed two!
Staying on main street, we’ll go next door to the Gibson Girl where they’ve got Fantasia Ice cream served either in a whoopee pie, or in a float. Or you can just get the ice cream if you want. Fantasia ice cream is pistachio, banana and cherry mixed up in one!
Moving up the street a bit to Coke Corner, guests can find TWO new treats. The Mac and Chili bread bowl and the corn chip chili cheese pie with jalapenos. Otherwise known as the firefly. Or for the layman who has been to their share of little league baseball games, a Frito pie. It’s fantastic no matter what you call it.
As for the Mac and Chili bread bowl, it’s a traditional sourdough bowl filled with chili and topped with mac and cheese. I personally would prefer a 50/50 mix on this bad boy, but it still satisfies. Mix everything up for best results.
Let’s turn left to Fronrtierland for Mozzarella sticks at the stage door cafe. They haven’t broken any new ground in the mozzarella stick game, but that doesn’t mean they’re not delicious! I prefer them WITHOUT the marinara dipping sauce myself.
Right next door is the golden horseshoe where guests can find a wonderfully named treat, the ice cream nachos. Unfortunately, the treat doesn’t quite live up to its intriguing name in that it is just three scoops of ice cream served over a bed of crumbled waffle cone. Having said that, it’s still delicious ice cream topped with the works, including hot fudge, nuts, and cherries.
We’ll cross the hub over to Tomorrowland and the Galactic Grill where we’ll find another fun sounding meal, the alien style burger. But when they say alien style, they really mean California style. And that means you put the fries IN the burger. Served with Thousand Island dressing and grilled onions, it’s a burger you’ve never has before at Disneyland, and it delivers…in space.
There are also some fun treats to explore at DCA starting at the Pacific Wharf for a mac and cheese bread bowl. Just like the bread bowl at coke corner, except…no chili. Nothing but some good old fashioned mac and cheese, and it’s delicious.
For dessert, we have two options. The first is at Schmoozie’s were guests need only ask for Malibu mocha smoothie, and it’s just like it sounds. Blended coffee and chocolate with whipped cream.
Or if you prefer a more traditional dessert, how about the neopolitan shake at Flo’s v8 café. Again, just like it sounds. A chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream shake that you can even get with crumbled Oreos if that’s your thing. It’s wonderful, and only at Flo’s.
And that’s the Disneyland secret menu. We’ve tried them all and were not disappointed. If you’ve tried them, let us know your thoughts in the comments below. And if you like what you’ve seen today, don’t forget to like and subscribe, because every time you do, a muffin gets its sprinkles.
