The year 2013 is just about here, and like most of you I have New Years resolutions to make. This year, I think I’d also like to make some Disneyland New Years Resolutions as well! Maybe they’re more goals then resolutions as it’s hard for me to believe that anything we do at Disneyland needs to be…done better. In either case, here are some things I’m looking forward to doing, or doing better, in our Disneyland year 2013.
Have Dinner at the Blue Bayou
Because we always say we want to, but we never do. We walk by, but say “next time.” But at some point you just have to do it, right? So this year I resolve to not look for an excuse NOT to go, and just…go.
Completely photograph and Document areas that may close
I’ve been around a little while. I’m not old, but I’m not young either. I’ve been to Disneyland when there was no Splash Mountain or Star Tours. I’ve even been on The Adventures through Inner Space ride. And one of my favorite things to do is look back and see how things have changed over the years through vintage photographs and video. This year I resolve to do my part by photographing Innoventions, Autopia, the Market House, and whatever other rides, attractions, or restaurants I believe will likely be gone soon. These will translate very soon to some great memories.
Photos with Characters
I’ve never been crazy about this idea, but over the years I’ve grown to the concept. Having photos with characters is, and should be, a rite of passage for all Disney guests. You don’t have to be a kid to do it, but even still, I’m like a kid when I go to Disneyland. So this year I resolve to do what’s right, and get those shots!
Attend every scheduled Limited Time Magic event for 2013
Ok, so this may be more a Disneyland goal than a Disneyland New Years Resolution. But these look to be a lot of fun and I don’t want to miss them. They’re the kinds of events that aren’t held often. Because of this, they are likely to be memories I’ll want to look back on in the future and say “yeah, I was there.”
Spend More Time at Night
I admit, I love rope drop. And I love going when I have a little bit of the park to myself. But night visits can be great as well, so long as one keeps their expectations in line. I want to see more lights, even if they’re not Christmas lights. I want to ride the Matterhorn at night. I want to see the fireworks go off as we crest the hill before seeing the goat on Big Thunder. I want to ride Storybook Land with a chill in the air. And I want to photograph and video record all of it. So this year I resolve to make a greater effort to visit the park more often at night.
Disneyland New Years Resolutions for 2013
That should give me enough to work on this year. There are some major commitments on this years Disneyland New Years Resolutions list, and I want to give myself some measure of success. What are your New Years Resolutions? Disney related or otherwise.
And until next time, take care everyone!
