Recently I had the pleasure of attending the 2012 Disneyland Christmas Parade, and let me just say that I missed that parade so much! I’ve seen it just once in the past few years, for a variety of reasons (mostly the crowds), but this weekend I made a point to bring a book, find a good spot, and wait. The video I got wasn’t very good because I was trying to get both photo and video at the same time, and that just doesn’t work for a moving target like the parade. But the photos were great!
Toy Soldiers Steal the Show
For me, the highlight of the whole parade might have been the Toy Soldiers. It’s almost a shame they appeared so early. But they did get the show off to a great start, filling me up with Christmas spirit immediately. There’s also a pretty funny video Disney released of one these toy soldiers training for the parade.
The show continued it’s momentum with some ice skating snow flakes and completely adorable snowmen. The snowflake choreography was a bit pedestrian though. But the snowmen were probably my third favorite part of the show
Fun with Christmas Baking
I don’t remember ever seeing these bakers before, but they were terrific. They put on a very fun looking kitchen fight if you will, where they were all chasing each other and throwing flour and what not around. It was really fun to watch and well choreographed. Goofy and Max got in to the act as well making a life size gingerbread house.
Disney Princesses
And what would a Disney parade be without Disney Princesses. We got them all in this Disneyland Christams Parade, plus a few wicked ones as well.
And your favorite Disney characters
The other Disney characters were not left out, including Chip and Dale, Tigger and Pooh, the Seven Dwarves, and of course Mickey and Minnie.
The Grand Finale
And finally, we get to meet Santa’s Reindeer, Elves, and the big man himself. The reindeer were pretty great, and the elves were super cute. And I loved Santa’s float. It was very festive.
The Disneyland Christmas Parade
And there you have it! A completely wonderful, festive, and uplifting Christmas Parade. I’m so grateful to Disney for putting on such a great, well thought out show. I know I probably sound like an over zealous good sometimes, but I really do enjoy these things and fully appreciate all the work and talent put in to the shows.
So Happy Holidays to everyone!! I hope you enjoy the season as much as we do!
