Today we get a sneak peak at the 2013 Cars Land Rose Parade Float. The float will highlight some of the major landmarks and sights of the Cars Land. These will include those baby tractors, Lightning McQueen and Sally, the Cozy Cones motel, the Tow Mater Junkyard sign, a ride vehicle from Luigi’s flying tires and Flo’s V8 Café.
Just reading all what is on the float, and seeing the pictures, it makes me wonder how they’re going to fit all of that on there. The article does say though that the float will be 125 feet long and will be the longest one in the parade. There’s also a great behind the scenes video of the construction of the float. Awesome, right!?
Naturally, this is not Disney’s first rodeo…I mean Rose Parade. There have been some pretty great floats in the past as well. I can hardly believe this was even a real float. It’s HUGE!!

What a great way to show off the new ride and California Adventure. It’s too bad the float looks better than I remember the actual park looking then
Is the Rose Parade Your Thing?
The Tournament of Roses Parade has been going on since 1890 (yes, EIGHTEEN!). For the longest time I thought the parade was part of the Rose Bowl, but it’s really the other way around. The football game was started as a means to help finance the parade!
The parade is filled with flower covered floats, marching bands, horses, and really cheesy commentary by the announcers, and it’s a lot of fun to watch for at least 20 minutes. Then you realize you’re up at 8 am on New Years Day and fall back asleep. I actually went to this parade many years ago as a kid and it was actually kind of miserable. We slept on the street. If you can call it sleep. Who does that?!
Cars Land Rose Parade Float
So yeah, the Rose Parade isn’t exactly my thing, but I do like the idea of a Disneyland themed float. And if that float of DCA from years ago is any indication, it should be cool. If you’re interested, you can read more about the 2o13 Cars Land Rose Parade float in the article at Stitch Kingdom.
And as I right this, Disneyland has just posted a new video update of the float’s progress.
